Privacy Policy

What we collect

FastBookshelf collects the following:

• The book titles and authors you enter, sent to OpenAI to generate your shelf image (not stored by OpenAI beyond generating your result).
• Your email address, and the account it belongs to — generating a shelf requires an account. If you sign in with Google we receive your email address and basic profile details from Google; we never see your Google password.
• Your IP address and an anonymous device cookie, used to enforce the free-generation limit and prevent abuse.
• Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe when you purchase additional generations — we never see or store your card information.

Your shelf image

Your generated shelf image is stored so you can access it via your shareable link. We don't sell or share your data with anyone beyond the services above (OpenAI, Stripe, and our hosting providers Supabase and Vercel) needed to run the product.

Where your data goes

FastBookshelf is run from Australia, but the services it depends on are not. Your information is disclosed to OpenAI, Stripe, Supabase and Vercel, which store and process data on servers outside Australia — principally in the United States. By using the service you agree to that overseas disclosure.

Accessing, correcting or deleting your data

You can ask us at any time to:

• send you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• correct anything that is wrong or out of date; or
• delete your account entirely, along with your book list, your generated shelves and the public links to them.

Email marcos.vc.basto@hotmail.com from the address your account uses and we'll action it within 30 days, at no charge. Deletion is permanent and can't be undone: any shelf link you have shared will stop working. Download anything you want to keep first — downloads are free and unwatermarked.

How long we keep it

Your books and shelves are kept while your account is open, so they are there when you come back. If you delete your account, or if we no longer need the information for the purposes above, we destroy it or de-identify it.

Age

This service is not intended for children under 18.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email marcos.vc.basto@hotmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with the outcome, you can take the complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
